Im all about nostalgia but why the hell do the lakers need Joe smith? Getting rid of Sashas contract was a smart move. I just cant come up with a good reason for having Joe Smith around. George Steinbrenner passing away is a harsh reality check. As a kid you see these public figures, and in a way they aren’t real. They are untouchable. Its as if they don’t exist in real life. As you grow older you come to the realization that they are people too. I grew up in an age where Magic Johnson got H.I.V, and nothing bad happened to him, he just got better and better, and made even more money. Mark McGwire didn’t fade out he bulked up and became the home-run king in his late 30′s! You never imagine that you will actually see one of your heroes die. The boss was the boss of all bosses. He owned the New York Yankees for God’s sake!! No one is untouchable, but we’d like to think we are. I guess if you’re gonna go out, today would be the best day; Just a few weeks after his 80th birthday, on the day of the all star game, and the Yankees still holding the crown as world champs. Yeah, thats the way to go out. Thank you & Rest in peace George Steinbrenner.

Soccer is awesome! I played from the age of 4 to 13 (switched to American football in highschool). I dont think America will ever appreciate it as much as the rest of the world. We like our sports with transparency. The word rescind, is becoming more common in american sports. The camera doesnt lie, and we assume that should be the final say. One side says, “Thats the beauty of the soccer.” The other side says “How archaic and ignorant is that?” Honestly, I wish there was a bit more transparency in soccer. At least the ref should have to explain a nullified goal. I think Im just use to it because thats the way its always been. BUT WHATEVER!!! I’m so stoked for this! That might be obvious, as I am blogging about it, at 6am. It would have been great to see the USA in the final, but Spain and the Netherlands both deserve it. My pick to win it all was Germany, and they got pretty close. Also I can’t believe Italia was knocked out so early. I guess its true; father time is undefeated. Not rooting for anyone in particular today but gonna watch it and enjoy every second.
